NEWLYWED MUST HAVES - PART 1

Hi everyone! Being that I’m recently married, I thought it would be a great idea to share a few of my favorite bridal shower gifts, and home appliances with you. Keep reading to check out some of my must haves!

THE BEST FOR.. FIRST! I am completely and utterly OBSESSED with my Nespresso Vertuo. Fellow coffee lovers where you at?! The specific machine I have comes with the Aeroccino - and YES, YOU NEED IT. It froths the most light, delicate, luxurious foam that suits any cup of coffee perfectly. Did I mention it froths hot AND cold? Yes, with the press of a button, hot or cold froth for a coffee just how you like it. Anyone else still drink iced coffee in the dead of winter? Yeah, same. The machine is super user friendly, very easy to use and doesn’t take up much counter space.

My current favorite pod is the Melozio - it’s a 6 on the caffeine intensity scale (the scale ranges from 1 to 11) so don’t worry, it won’t make your heart pump out of your chest! It’s a super smooth well balanced taste that pairs really well with the Starbucks Caramel Macchiato creamer (frothed in the Aeroccino of course).

I also think the coffee layers looks so pretty in clear drink-ware so these are my current favorite inexpensive cappuccino/espresso mugs:

I’m so sorry Keurig… I think I’ve officially moved on! CIGAR LOVERS

While I personally am not a cigar smoker, my husband and all of the men in his family are.

This humidor is made with Spanish cedar wood, is temperature controlled electrically, and holds up to 300 cigars. We actually purchased a ton of cigars to include in our viennese hour at our wedding so we could have a "cigar bar", and we were able to store them all in this humidor along with his personal ones!

It suits any man cave or bar area really well.. the sleek design is definitely not an eye sore for my aesthetic gals! Not to mention, it's quiet and doesn't make any noise. A humidor makes for a great gift that cigar lovers can use for years to come. Add this to your gift idea list: Father's Day, anniversary, or birthday - they will for sure love it! In addition, the set up was very simple (so they told me).

SLEEP LIKE A BABY I don't know about you guys, but if my bed is not made properly with the best linens and blankets, I do not get a good night's sleep. Maybe it's in my head - but I just can't get comfortable! (The girls that get it, get it). I'm a huge blanket lover - comforters, throws, all of the above. Find me wrapped up on the couch with a cozy blanket regardless of what the weather is.

COMFORTER I LOVE our comforter. We've been using this one for over two years and it's still in excellent condition. The 100% cotton, fluffy and light material makes it feel like you're sleeping in a cloud. We've used this comforter in all seasons. While it does come in other neutral colors, I personally love the crisp white, clean look. As far as washing it goes - it does fit in a standard washing machine and I normally just air dry it on the drying rack. Next, SATIN PILLOWCASES! Must HAVE. I didn't know what I was missing until we started using these. No more frizzy hair, sweat sticking to the pillow, or skincare products getting soaked up in your regular everyday cotton pillow cases.

It's an inexpensive way to amp up the luxurious feel that a nice hotel gives. Also, who doesn't want or quite frankly, NEED a better nights sleep?! These definetly help.

BED SKIRT They say that when things are under your bed, or your room isn't arranged in a certain way, it screws with the "feng shui". So what exactly is feng shui? Don't worry, I only just recently learned about it from my mother-in-law, and also learned at the same time that I most definitely don't got it going on. Feng shui is: an ancient Chinese art of arranging buildings, objects, and space in an environment to achieve harmony and balance. So basically long story short - anyone else hoard things/containers/storage under their bed? Yeah, me too. No feng shui in the Primavera bedroom. Ha!

Being that we absolutely do have storage under our bed, I figured I'd hide the chaotic appearance of it all with a bed skirt. It fits right over our box spring and hides all the stuff that doesn't look so aesthetically pleasing. On my way to feng shui... well, maybe.

ALEXA, WHAT'S THE TEMPERATURE?

I would guess that most people either have, or know about the Amazon Alexa. To be 100% honest, I originally had no interest in getting one. BUT, now that I do own one, I love it and use in on a daily basis.

We have the Echo Dot, a smaller more compact version of what is the original. Although small, the speaker quality is awesome and loud. We use her daily to set alarms for getting up, timers to cook, and of course play music amongst many other things. Nothing like my husband whispering to her to play some 50 Cent blaring to get me out of bed in the morning. Overall, I'd invest in more Alexas to use around the house for other living areas in the future.

DRINKS, ANYONE? DECANTER SET

We graciously received a lot of beautiful bar and cocktail glassware as gifts. If you or your hubby is a whiskey drinker like mine, this crystal decanter set is a gorgeous staple for your bar cart.

We (he) really loves the elegant look of his favorite whiskey displayed in this decanter. The set includes 4 glasses as well.

While we're on the talk of whiskey, one of my husband's favorite Christmas gifts from me this year was this silicone ice cube tray set. The set comes with two different ice cube trays that make 6 square cubes, and 6 round cubes that elevate the meaning of whiskey on the rock(s). Regular schmegular ice cubes just don't cut it anymore for my guy. It's safe to say that I think we fill these trays up more than our everyday ice cube tray! Makes for a great, uncostly gift.

MARTINI GLASSES Oh, God. If there's going to be ONE thing, that's the hardest for me to part ways with when we start trying to have babies, it's going to be martinis. Sorry, no shame over here. I live for a perfectly made dirty martini (with fat blue cheese stuffed olives of course). Ok, and just one more thing for my New Jersey readers - you MUST check out Bottagra Restaurant in Hawthorne, for the absolute BEST "Hot & Dirty" martini you will ever have in your life. I dream of it. Thank me later, you're welcome.

So while I don't have the luxury of being served an ice cold cocktail from a cute waiter all the time, I do have my husband who has bartending experience, and well, that's a plus because he's pretty cute too. These simple yet sophisticated martini glasses come in a set of 4, so if you like to have guests over, I would suggest buying two sets. Being that they are super inexpensive, it's not such a big deal if you break one during a night of laughs while sipping on a delicious limoncello martini (my second fav) or a well made Manhattan.

PS - I personally prefer glassware with stems, but if you like stemless better, this set here would be perfect for you!

SHOT GLASSES Without a doubt, these shot glasses are used just about every Friday night in the Primavera household. Frangelico, Nocello, Sambuca (if you know, you know) - these glasses have seen it all!

Like I mentioned before, I prefer glassware with stems, and these match perfectly with our crystal whiskey decanter set too. If you're not one to do shots of liquor on the reg, these are also perfect to use for the holidays or fancy dinner parties.
