Welcome back! I can't believe how much of a positive response I got from part 1 of my 'Newlywed Must Haves' blog - so here I am, back again, with part two!
Ok, so I won't lie. I'm not the best baker around - my cooking skills are waaaay better. But, this KitchenAid mixer does help! I think a common misconception about the KitchenAid mixer is that it's used primarily for baking, but that is far from true! It easily whips together both wet and dry ingredients for any recipe. With an array of different attachments, you'll be making homemade pasta in no time.
This specific KitchenAid comes with a 5 quart stainless steel bowl, pouring shield, dough hook, wire whip, and flat beater. All of the attachments that I have are dishwasher safe - big plus! I love my Pistachio colored mixer, but it does come in other colors as well. I'd say the black and white are most popular amongst people I know that own one. While it is a larger ticketed item, I personally think it's essential in any kitchen, so it makes for a great investment. Absolutely add this item to your wedding registry - (thank you Aunt Jo for one of my favorite gifts)!
SHOE ADDICTS Shoe Rack You guys know that feeling when you're rummaging through a pile of shoes at the bottom of your closet, trying to find the match to the one shoe you already have in your hand, literally 30 seconds before you have to rush out the door?
It's a big problem that I have. I *need* a different pair of shoes for every outfit I wear... sandals, sneakers, stilettos, boots, you name it. We do have this stackable shoe rack inside of our closet that is mostly filled with..yes, my shoes. I'm sorry to my husband but he can't really complain being that he purchased me three new pairs alone this past month!
What's nice about this rack is that it's adjustable width wise, so it can fit more or less shoes depending on the space you choose to put it. It stores up to 16 pairs of shoes (but I'm actually able to fit a few more when I lay my sneakers on their side). The assembly was super easy and I was able to put it together in less than 5 minutes.
Storage Bins
Another great way to organize shoes is in these plastic storage containers. I recommend purchasing the 6 quart containers for shoe storage. If you've thrown out boxes to your designer heels, look no further. These plastic bins will keep your shoes (and even clutch purses) clean and dust free. They are stackable and fit nicely on higher shelving as well. EGG-CELENT EVERY TIME
Dash Deluxe Egg Cooker Alright... some people will make fun of this, but I don't care. Do you know how annoying it is to try and get a perfectly poached egg for your avocado toast in a boiling pot of water?! It feels like I'm swirling around egg white for ages just for it to all rise to the top of the pot. And wait.. how about when you overcook a hard boiled egg and the chalky, dry yolk crumbles in your mouth? I'll gag just thinking about it.
This Dash Deluxe Egg Cooker is fool proof. All you have to do is fill it up with uncooked eggs, choose the desired cooking length and walk away. Come back and voila, perfectly cooked eggs. You can also steam veggies dumplings in this as well - I haven't tried yet - but I'll keep you updated when I do!
EASY CLEAN UP
Some swear by the Swiffer, I swear by the Bona. I can't even believe a mop gets me this excited at 27 years old. Ha! I find it to be a lot sturdier than a Swiffer, and the mop head is wider too. The Bona Mop is safe for hardwood, vinyl, and tile floors. I also really like that the mop head pad can be detached and washed since it's microfiber. It also comes with the refillable cartridge for the cleaning solution.
Recently, I ended up in a rabbit hole of TikTok cleaning videos and the Scrub Daddy kept appearing. I took it as a sign to purchase one. Guys... again, I don't know how at 27 years old I'm this excited over a sponge - but here I am. Get one for yourself, one for your sister, mother, and neighbor. Stick it in a cute house-warming basket with some dish towels and a nice bottle of vino. Just get it!
I can't recommend our luggage set enough! We received this a wedding shower gift last April and have used it many times since. It comes in a 3 piece set (guess who uses the largest suitcase)?
I prefer a hard cover shell luggage as I find it to be more durable, and a lot easier to clean. (Don't get me started about fabric luggage - the filth, the stains, the grossness from the airport. Yes, I'm that person who Lysol wipes their luggage before and after a trip).
Aside from being durable, the 3 pieces fit right inside of each other, not taking up much room at all. Another plus is that it has wheels for easy transport and TSA locks on it for added security.
Toiletry Bag
Not me packing all of the makeup and hair products I own for a short weekend get-a-away...
No seriously, I used to pack all of my makeup in a seperate carry-on bag in fear that bottles would break or perfume would leak in my luggage. I started using a toiletry bag - well two toiletry bags - one for makeup, one for actual toiletries to travel with. This bag has 4 separate compartments with pads, and zippers to ensure the safety of your expensive beauty products. It's also waterproof! 10/10!
Luggage Tags I love how these bright, neon luggage tags look against our black luggage. It makes finding your bags on the luggage carousel a whole lot easier. I also attach them to our duffel bags for weekend trips - just in case.
